One face, four very different moods. JISOO’s latest self-portrait campaign is built like a set of imaginary auditions: change the clothes, change the character, and watch a fashion image turn into a miniature performance.
Four characters, one campaign
Explore the looks in self-portrait’s original campaign post on Instagram, also included in Bandwagon’s September 22 coverage.
Bandwagon reports that all four personas are now revealed. The finale, The Optimist, pairs a brown off-shoulder collar top with black capri knit leggings and pearl flower earrings. The character is presented as calm and quietly assured.
How the four personas differ
- The Enigma: the opening chapter. The brand’s Portraits of Jisoo campaign page describes a curious, whimsical character and introduces the imagined-audition format.
- The Muse: Bandwagon describes a magnetic, misunderstood persona in a pale pink satin slip dress with feather trim.
- The Ingénue: a dreamy, observant character whose look combines a grey flower wool jumper and green satin bow mini skirt.
- The Optimist: the quieter final mood, bringing the four-part sequence together.
Both the brand and Bandwagon credit Oliver Hadlee Pearch with capturing the campaign in Seoul. In the report, JISOO explains that the changing wardrobe helped her find nuances in each performance. That gives viewers a more interesting question than simply choosing a favorite outfit: which look most changes the way you read the character?
Watch it as a sequence
Start with the character names, then compare the styling and the mood each name suggests. A feather-trimmed slip dress and a knit-and-mini-skirt combination tell different stories before a line is spoken. That is our reading of the campaign’s concept, rather than a claim about JISOO’s private personality.
These are fashion-film personas. For her separate music release, the JISOO CLICK format guide explains the CD, NFC and vinyl editions.
