Jessica and Park Myung-soo are back in the same Naengmyeon headline. Their September 19 performance at Infinite Challenge Run in Gyeongju has brought renewed attention to the playful duet they first performed in 2009. The attraction is the familiar pairing and a song that sends viewers straight back to an earlier era of Korean variety television.

What happened in Gyeongju?
According to Newsen’s September 20 report, the pair performed Naengmyeon at a special show after the race at Gyeongju Citizens’ Stadium. The report identifies their collaboration name as Myeongcardrive and places the original song at Infinite Challenge’s 2009 Olympic Expressway Duet Song Festival.
STARNEWS also covered the appearance, describing a video shared by Coupang Play in which the two performed the song together, including its noodle-eating gesture. These are accounts of the Gyeongju show, not an announcement of a new recording or a reunion tour.
Why the reaction is about more than a song
Newsen reported online comments praising the pair’s singing, expressing nostalgia and appreciating Park’s loyalty. Those are reactions selected in that report, rather than a survey of the whole audience. The common thread is recognition: two familiar performers returning to a collaboration viewers already remember.
For someone encountering the clip without that background, the title can be confusing. Naengmyeon also names Korean cold noodles. Here, it is the song title; the food connection also helps explain the eating gesture mentioned in the coverage.
What does the 17-year gap actually mean?
Seventeen years separates the original 2009 song festival from this 2026 event. It should not be taken to mean the two had no intervening reunion. Insight’s June 25, 2021 report documented Jessica appearing on Halmyungsoo and singing Naengmyeon with Park during that episode.
The embedded Halmyungsoo episode 42 is that older appearance, included for context. It is not footage from the September 2026 Gyeongju show. Checking the upload and event dates is useful when old and new reunion clips appear together.
The new story is the Gyeongju stage and the nostalgia around it. A broader claim about future group activities or a permanent return goes beyond what these performance reports establish.
